Rico Rodriguez - Jama Rico
Produced by Dick Cuthell & Jerry Dammers
Horns : Rico Rodriguez
Recorded at Joe Gibbs & Town House (London, UK)
A relieving follow up to the non-descript Ska album "That
Man Is Forward". Rico here breaks away from his second wave
Ska fame and spends most of the time exploring the deeper
roots of rasta drumming and soulful horn workouts. Friends
of Count Ossie should readily recognize the "true" Rico
sharing his spirit on this LP. All tracks marked as traditional were recorded in England.
The track styles break down as follows:
1, 4, 5, 9 traditional drum based, non-reggae
2 second wave ska
3 seriously heavy roots reggae
6, 7, 8 reggae rhythms also, more or less emphasized
Destroy Them
We Want Peace
Jam Rock
Some Day
Distant Drums
Love And Justice
Java
Do The Reload
Easter Island
