Yellowman, the King of Slackness, back in 1988 I was at a concert of him and when I see him perform there I was a little shocked by his appearance. He did the Blueberry Hill tour at the time and I especially remember that the ladies loved him for his witty strong personality. Made me think it's not what you do but how you do it. It's not just what you look like but how you act. The concert was very funny btw.

Yellowman is like e.g. Gregory Isaacs an overrecorded reggae star (four albums a year is no exception) so he inevitably has also made a share of weaker albums. "Rides Again" is definately one of his better (more killers, less fillers) incl. the big dancehall hit Wild Wild West. The song that stays in my mind forever is I'm Ready - When love comes knocking at my door, you must be very sure that I'm ready - showing that Yellowman is besides a great DJ also a good singer. A good singer is not the one technically best skilled, but one who has a unique own voice and vocal delivery. Respect to Yellow!
